Yes- nobody is...except Putin views all sorts of things as an 'attack' on Russia.

Can you say Ukraine?
Kiev, Ukraine (CNN) -- Undeterred by an overnight crackdown by authorities, protesters in the center of the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, rebuilt barricades Wednesday that had been torn down hour earlier by riot police.
As the day continued, police pulled back from the city's Independence Square, or Maidan, and the country's leaders sought to play down fears of a further clampdown.
Earlier, hundreds of officers used chainsaws to pull down the barriers, which had been manned by pro-Western demonstrators. Clashes led to reports of injuries on both sides.
Angry about the refusal of Ukraine's Russian-allied President Viktor Yanukovych to sign an agreement that would strengthen cooperation with the European Union, thousands of demonstrators have been camped out for days in Independence Square.
They also continue to occupy Kiev's City Hall.

Wednesday's predawn crackdown on protesters brought condemnation from Western leaders.

Also this little gem-
Russia reserves pre-emptive nuclear strike right (2009)

...Russia was revising its military doctrine to include new terms of use of its nuclear forces, he said, adding that President Dmitry Medvedev, who chairs the Security Council, would be presented with the new doctrine by the end of the year.

"Conditions of using nuclear weapons to repel an aggression with the use of conventional weapons not only in a large-scale but also in a regional and even local war have been revised," he said, without naming these conditions.

"Moreover, different variants are considered to allow the use of nuclear weapons depending on a certain situation and intentions of a would-be enemy. In conditions critical for national security one should not also exclude a preventive nuclear strike on the aggressor."

Russia's current doctrine says the "most important task is to be able to deter, including with the use of nuclear weapons, an aggression of any scale against Russia and its allies".

As Russia's conventional troops lack modern equipment and undergo a painful reform aimed to cut their numbers and create professional armed forces, Moscow relies heavily on its formidable arsenal of nuclear weapons...

So let's see. Obama nearly attacked Syria (Russian ally.)

Ukraine is going through a series of political uprisings in the form of protests because the president wanted to remain in Russia's sphere of influence.

Putin is not amused.

Putin is increasingly obsessed with rebuilding and increasing his nuclear forces because all he sees are threats to his power.

Communists with nukes are less scary than a mafia boss with nukes- Putin is a mobster in all but name.

Ukraine is a very important country to Russia- http://www.eurodialogue.org/Russia-batt ... er-Ukraine

He's not likely to just roll over and let Ukraine slip from his grasp. Putin most likely had Viktor Yushenko (Ukraine's former pro-western president) poisoned in an assassination attempt- http://seedmagazine.com/content/article ... president/

The former KGB agent isn't subtle in this threats

And I can see you know little about cost/benefit analysis. Not that your nonsense is worth replying too, but all wars between nations are carefully calculated and forward, preemptive action is only taken when the probability of success is high enough. Any country to use nuclear weapons in combat would face immediate condemnation and resistance from the rest of the world, thus rendering the cost of doing so permanently too high.

Relax.

I want to hear sigma's response, to Putin's nuclear sabre rattling when he was so down on the use of nuclear weapons. Also, I want to hear what he thinks about Ukraine residents, who are protesting their president's decision to join with Russia instead of the EU. If Russia's so good to sidle up to, why are the people of Ukraine throwing a HUGE fit about joining the Russian economic union?

Come to think of it, Russia might be heaven for American conservatives too. Time for Putin to create the Russian Conservative Moral Union? He can take all the Pat Robertson and Fred Phelps types into their fold. That'll be the day Hell freezes over, when conservatives join up with their old commie foes. :P
