sigma wrote:you never have occurred to him that in America, too much blue ? And every day they are more and more becoming. American " democracy " promotes the growth of moral and genetic freaks. I can only suspect as you did normal boys blue men. Just do not tell me tales about the absence of critical homosexuality among the highest political and ecclesiastical elite of Europe and the United States . I can not explain this in another way a great desire to make the U.S. political elite unconventional sexual Orientation fixture of American democracy. You wallow in depravity . But the Russian people and will saves to preserve the health of the nation . Calm down, no one here is blue burn at the stake, they can live like normal people. Just do not give LGBT people more rights just because they are LGBT. This is direct discrimination of normal, healthy people!
You make it sound like the U.S. is being overrun with gay people. Not true. Only 2 to 4 percent of the entire population in the U.S. in gay. So you're wrong. The U.S. is not "too much blue".

As for Russia, I'm betting you have about the same percentage of gay people we do. It's a fairly constant number worldwide and it's not changing. The only reason you think there are more gays today is because more of those hidden gays are becoming more comfortable being "out". Russia getting all worked up about a very small percentage of it's own population. As for rights, how does a small 4% of your population qualify as taking away the rights of the majority? I see it the other way around, repressing a minority you dislike, and you obviously dislike gays.

Besides, you're forgetting that many artists in the world are gay. Get rid of the gays and you get rid of most of your best art. I'm willing to bet that Postnik Yakovlev, the purported architect of St. Basil's Cathedral, was probably gay. I can't prove it or find references, most homosexuals were closeted back then for fear of their lives, but the artistry of the cathedral speaks for itself.

Sorry TG.

How about the fact that Sochi is now having warm weather and all the snow is melting, even the stuff the Russians stored from last year. What happened to all that cold Russian weather? :P

Epic wardrobe malfunction. It's costing the U.S. speed-skaters, and it may cost Under Armour even more.

It boggles the mind that they didn't have the athletes performing extensive testing for months before rolling those things out. Hell, if it really is an issue with the suits, even putting a guy in a wind tunnel would probably show something going wrong.

Today, the U.S. once again proved that opinion of Americans means nothing. Prostitute is more respect than the American judge. I really want to meet an American in Moscow to give him a pack of condoms.

Rules ? Listen, I spent several years in the Championships in sambo . I am well aware techniques that use dishonest athletes at major competitions . Every professional knows it. For example , I can quietly judges elbow to the solar plexus of the enemy on the shot , or hit him in the liver so that no one would notice . Although according to the rules I 'll be right . Athletes who used such methods were disqualified or losing respect from other athletes .
This episode with the goalkeeper and the judge of the United States is a typical example of unscrupulous game and judging from my point of view.
I believe that Russia made the right decision not to challenge the results of the judging of the American judge. Despite the fact that Russia lost the U.S. in the game goal scoring , but Russia has once again demonstrated its superiority in sports honor code .

I suspect the team is supposed to get penalized if they knock the net off intentionally... if the referees catch it. Which doesn't always happen, unfortunately.

Also, wouldn't it be standard practice to have referees from neutral countries at international matches like this? I'm not familiar with how IIHF/IOC does stuff but I always remember it working that way in rugby...

I do not understand the passion to win at any cost. I believe that some Western countries do not deserve it, and bought yourself an Olympic medal for the money or price vile scandals , or other unfair means , only to get a medal , despite the fact that such a disgrace medal athletes for life. I always worry when I see the performance of each athlete from any country at the Olympic Games . Sometimes I feel a lot more respect for the athletes who competed honestly , but have not received prizes than some Olympic champions ...

Quit whining sigma. I know the referee was an American, but it was called by the International Ice Hockey Federation referee supervisor, who's NOT an American.

http://www.foxnews.com/sports/2014/02/1 ... sia-match/
The referee supervisor for the International Ice Hockey Federation, Konstantin Komissarov, confirmed that the ruling made by the referees was correct and that video review had been properly used to make the call....
But, there's one more chance at redemption sigma. It wasn't the final medal game. But Russia has to beat Norway tomorrow on Feb. 18. If the Russians lose to Norway, you can't blame America for it, only yourselves.

Look who's talking, and your silent would be better. America and Europe so disgraced himself at international competitions endless scandals, unfair refereeing, and just ugly antics that I do not even know how you will be able to rehabilitate themselves. I'm not vindictive, just my memory is good. Suffice it to recall Elena Berezhnaya, Anton Sikharulidze, Irina Slutskaya, Alexey Nemov, Maxim Chudov, Albert Selimov, Kazakhstan hockey team in Medeo, and much, and much, and much more.

So Russia's mad at Europe and thinks they cheat at the games too. What utter nonsense. I don't think anything anybody does will satisfy Russia if they lose a few contests. Your country is hosting the games and your athletes are on home turf and you tie us for gold medals as of this morning. What's the problem, because I see Russia winning quite a few of the medals. I'm guessing you're a bunch of sore losers if you don't win at EVERYTHING. Well, you can't WIN at everything. Your country doesn't have a lock on athletic prowess. However, you should be happy. Your team trounced Norway today. If we both make it to the final hockey game, I hope our team cleans the ice with yours.

Last time I heard the reason we sent aircraft carriers to the Black Sea was to help if our athletes were attacked by terrorists. You do have a slight terrorist problem in Russia, don't you? Russia should only gripe if those carriers in the Black Sea remained AFTER the Olympics. I, as an American, would not like to see that happen either. We do enough saber rattling in the world and it's getting ludicrous. We don't need to poke the bear from within his own territory.

I now will die of laughter. If though one bullet takes off from the American aircraft carrier towards the Russian territory under the pretext of fight against terrorists, this aircraft carrier will be instantly destroyed. Also the third world war will begin. If Islamic terrorists didn't seize such smart moment for jihad against incorrect, it means that the large international terrorist organizations work at the USA. Or, in the worst case, to the USA regularly renders tribute to terrorists that they didn't arrange acts of terrorism in the territory of the USA.

I'll agree with you on this point. If Russia were to park an aircraft carrier off a U.S. coast, our military would be not very happy about it. But I don't think our military would be so stupid as to fire a live weapon at Russia and start WWIII, even it terrorists strike in Russia. Americans don't want WWIII anymore than the Russians do. Americans certainly don't want to see Russia suffer terrorist attacks either, nor do we reward those terrorists for NOT performing attacks on our soil.

sigma, you're taking things too personally or listening to too much propaganda about bad Americans. The Olympics are just SPORT and GAMES, meant for bolstering national pride. This is not a war between Russia and America or Europe. We're just supporting our athletes, so go out and cheer on your athletes. The games are on your soil this time. Your country is enjoying the spotlight. Quit complaining about perceived cheating whenever your athletes lose and be a good sport and enjoy the sporting rivalry between nations. Your athletes have won many medals, so you're complaining about nothing. Our stupid aircraft carrier will leave when our athletes leave. If it doesn't, we've got bigger troubles and our president is an idiot to leave it there in the face of Russian opposition.

I got the impression that the Swedes today are not playing hockey, and succumbed. For example, as usual lately hockey games at the NHL did not fight, and fooling around, arranging the show for spectators. At that low-quality histrionics :(

***************************************************
Add: By the way the closing ceremony of the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, now in Moscow accompanied by a grand fireworks display in honor of the Day of Defender of the Fatherland. Joyful and rare coincidence :)

Add2: How beautiful and friendly people of Russia. In my brain does not fit the idea that the Nazis wanted to destroy it all..........
