there was a progressive party that got rolled into some other banner. Virtually all extreme left types I know(Progressives in their own right) are with the greens. Still, one can be Progressive, without any interest in Communism, Sol Alinsky or any of the other claptrap that Rightwingnuts want to scare people with. And, that's the issue, as noted elsewhere. You folks are scared to death of anything you don't understand, and the words you write here indicate that you all don't understand a lot.

So? All humans harbor some xenophobia. It's because we're tribal in our social structures and tend to dislike those outside our own little tribes. Yes, even liberals can be racists. Big deal. However, it's mostly conservatives who seem to want to want bigotry put into law.

still don't grasp the effect of 200 years of slavery and 100 years of Jim Crow, do you, TB? It's called 'levelling the playing field' in a world(and this has been demonstrated, linked, proven and re-proven on this board at least 100 times)of white, male privilege. And, the folks wishing to maintain that privilege are exclusively conservatives, and, in this day and age, the Republican party.
