As a side note:
Yes, Diedel throws alot of name callings, and I personally wish that he wouldn't because it allows him to be instantly discredited and his arguments to not be takin seriously. Yet, he has also recieved more then his fair share of insults thrown back at him.
Both sides should stop.

Gooberman,
just for the record: This is the only thread where I actually called somebody names. I use harsh words on people at times, but they are directed at their actions, not at the entire person. To me that makes a difference. It's a difference whether I say "you are acting foolishly" or "you are a fool".
I usually also do not start throwing insults at others. Usually others start to provoke me in some unfair way or the other.
This thread has degenerated so much however that I don't care whether openly insulting others decreases my credibility or not. Personally, I tend to look at the contents, not at the package. I seem to be pretty alone with that attitude here. I also do not tend to put down people in general - I rather attack an attitude, an action, or an opinion. There are quite a few people here of whom this cannot be said.

Nope.
Actually, index wouldn't say anything like that into my face. Isn't it amazing what the safety of the inet's anonymity reveals about people's personalities?

To Tyranny
You'd better stop playing the self-righteous hypocrite here.
To Index
I just tried a language you should understand, given the intellectual level you are displaying so far. Rest assured: Being twice as smart as you wouldn't make anybody a genius. Not even 10 times as smart.

You are pretty simple minded, aren't you?
To America!
Big muscles - small brains.
and....heh
To Bash
you don't do your homework, you **** [edit] moron...If you are so lazy, superficial and dumb, why don't you just STFU?
I don't have time to read every thread/post these days, so others could probably add more.
Like I said though, I could probably find just as many thrown at you. And I sure have thrown my own at a few of them! But the trick is doing it in moderation
You have alot of good arguments. Alot I agree with! But your threads so far seem to become about you and less about what you say! That's a shame.

Gooberman,
The only statement I consider name calling is what went to bash, and if it wasn't in this thread, well ... then it was in the thread that spawned this one.
I wonder what makes you classify a statement like "big muscle - small brains", or "playing the hypocrite" ("playing" means he isn't really that), or "simple minded" name calling.
Name calling is e.g. "Nazi" or "idiot", or "dumbass", things that have been directed at me here.
I wouldn't have ticked out here if it hadn't been for the unfair and idiotic way people have attacked me here simply for issuing opinions they don't like. I hat that. It's backstabbing for me. It's honorless, a method of cowards. They are not capable of simply countering what I say, they have to resort to disgusting methods of diffamation. I am a very straightforward person. I hate lies, be they direct or indirect. That together with a lack of the intelligence required to conduct an educated, balanced discussion by the persons in question has really upset me. They feel there is something to what I say and the U.S. is not as infallible, pure and righteous as they would like it to see, and it makes them mad at me.
This goes to them, not you, Gooberman:
Hey guys: I am just a messenger!
And you don't like it if somebody shoves his opinion in your face as you believe is an American privilege, right?

Who started to deal out grief, huh?
Actually, this is a little ridiculous, but oh well:
Pay my ticket, and sign something that you will not sue me for anything I'll do to you, and I might come over for a little butt whooping. You probably need to offend me sufficiently for it though.
Prepare yourself well. I do a lot of sports, and I work out regularly (so much for the pen1s comparison stuff, lol).
I just wonder why you had to do this publicly, and not by PM like every gentleman would. Oh wait, I got it: You're not a gentleman.
Actually, you just proved how much of an idiot you are. Sorry. The truth sometimes hurts.

Politics is such an interesting subject. I've tutored numerous physics students in my time. And quite often, (too often!), they are just plainly wrong. Or they don't consider all the variables. They applied the wrong initial conditions,(or didn't apply any! heh) didn't consider edge effects, etc. And Iâ??ve had students get upset, or more frustrated, when I tell them they are wrong! But I donâ??t get mad back, I explain to them where their mistake lies, they then agree or tell me why they still think they are right.
Yet, with politics, here you strongly believe that Will Robinson is wrong. (Alot of times I agree, even though he is very talented at presenting his arguments.) And that turns to hate and demonization of him. It's the only subject where wrong turns to evil! (both sides do this) I've been on these boards since 99' I think, and don't think Will ever insulted me personally. Bash, yeah, usually sarcastic tone though. Lothar, edgy. Index, not that I recall.
Will, Index, Lothar, Bash, none of them are bad guys. They just have different opinions.

I don't usually address Diedel in topics such as these because I have no need to defend myself. Just as he called me several names or insulted my intelligence in that one thread it became obvious that he wasn't reading what I had wrote clearly.
Theres something in the language being used that is getting confused somewhere and you feel the need to lash out and insult Americans. You immediatly misconstrued posts in this thread as "Anti-Europe" posts when all that had been said is that anti-semitism is on the rise in Europe. Wtf did the anti-europe come from?
How many threads on the DBB do you see where Americans are knocking our own system? Every month something comes along where we critique ourselves. Why would we have any desire to lash out and say [sarcasm]country x sucks because it isn't america[/sarcasm]. While there are many Americans that think like this, I'd wager that most of the DBBers have a great deal of respect for countries that aren't America. Atleast in certain areas.
Anyways, I'm content to talk with you about descent related things Diedel but sometimes you do act a bit childish. I didn't see anything in this thread that would constitute as an attack on Germany or Europe. It had the makings of a very organized and interesting topic and only when you came out with the gloves off did others retaliate against you.
Sometimes it is better to say nothing at all.

The only statement I consider name calling is what went to bash
Then you need to learn better what your statements mean and how they will be interpreted. Whether you intend it or not, you've insulted a lot more people than just bash.
If there's anyone who wants to actually discuss any of the material that was spoken of in this thread, start a new one, and stay on topic.
