I almost never speed on the highway, but I always do it that way when I do. The only risk in Belgium (high risk though) is to get flashed by a camera. So I only speed at night or dusk, piggybacking another car. In case there is a flash, the guy in front of me will get caught on photo and I will have time to brake.

Driving in Germany is nice though, there is no limit there. When I go skiing in Austria I do 180-200km/h there when traffic allows.

Good to hear you got out of this without any downside.

Lobber: as a son of a police officer I'm not surprised, that happens a lot. He probably had something important to do (like criminal court) and couldn't attend. Smacking you with a $300 fine for a traffic violation is very low on the priority list.
