Nope again. Flip, not sure if earlier models had wood frames but the later ones appear not to.

Hmmm, twin 50s, two different models, classic enduring design (whatever the heck *that* means), troop transport...

I would'a guessed the Mosquito, 'cause it was wooden, but that's been overruled....

You got it Sarge. I always liked the low waisted, buxom front end of that plane. For a aircraft that was planned on being scrapped early on, it certainly proved itself over the years. During the Guadalcanal phase of WW2 the Black Cat played with with the Jap convoys trying to supply their troops. The PBY was one of the most versatile aircraft of the war.
