I'm not affraid of seeing sex in any show. It is that I don't really like it in sci-fi. PBS? What about any sci-fi show before Enterprise? I mean, there was a bit of it here and there but not every other episode.
My bro watches this show and loves it. I don't watch it that much. I saw two or three episodes, thought the battle scenes were good but other than that it really wasn't something I could get addicted to. I don't even hardly watch TV because it mostly sucks anyway. Only show I really even pay attention to is Lost.
Oh and I liked the original Star Buck. Not my favorite but I thought he was good.
Dissent, as for your sexuallity, I think we would all question that if you jumped in the shower with any guy.
I don't like a character because I want to sleep with them. That is the logic of a 13 year old girl. No insult intended here, I can understand that you think she is pretty. But I like a character because I like that character and I think they are cool and interesting, not because I would like to take a shower with them.
As for Starbuck not being neutered.... are you saying that she is a shemale? That's kinda disturbing....
I have nothing against female characters. I just don't like it when they completely change a character into something and someone completely different.
I mean, I would be irritated if in 10 years they remake Lost and have someone like Adam Sandler play Sawyer.
I'm not saying BSG isn't a good show in it's own right. Sure it's a good remake really but it still isn't that unique and loses a lot of respect in my book for the changes that they made just to bring in more ratings. Not only that but it is play on an old series and a sci-fi cash cow without needing to really prove itself in order to gain a name.
I still can't say that Firefly is a good show yet, being that I don't get it where I live but by the movie I would say that it has a pretty good chance of being a good series.
I really can not mark the remake of BSG as being the best series ever made bar none.
I can say that the original ST and BSG were both awsome shows. I was more exposed to the original ST but I really liked BSG. As for sci-fi in total I still like the original Star Wars the best but I am starting to see the light with Serenity.
I think actually, even more I liked to watch Space Above And Beyond for some reason. It was sort of an ongoing war epic. I really enjoyed that show, though the characters seemed a little mechanical at times. :\ The characters and story setting were a little darker anyway so it worked well.
