Once I woke up and got into the shower. When I got out, my stereo was playing a CD.
My wife had been at work for at least 3 hours, and hadn't come home. The CD player doesn't repeat, and it was only about 50 minutes of music, so it would've stopped if she'd been playing it that morning. I didn't touch the stereo that morning, so I couldn't have started it playing. The door was locked.
I guessed it might have been a power outage, and it started playing when the power came back on. Flipped the breaker to test... nope, it doesn't auto-play.
My best guess is that the remote fell off of something and just happened to land on the "play" button, or that someone in a nearby apartment had a powerful remote and hit "play" when it was facing just the right direction.
