Yeah, so I got our new fiber line to the house installed this morning. After going through all the setup, getting the DVR working, checking that it connected. The three of us finally sat down at our PCs to actually try it out.

The actual speed we are subscribed for is 100 mbit / 40 mbit, the reason the speed tests are 10 times that is because in response to cable companies doing "powerboost" to cheat speed tests, the phone company decided two could play at this game and white listed a bunch of speed test servers to go as fast as the pipe instead of shaped like ordinary traffic.

Not sure what's going on with my upstream. It's solidly 930Mbps through most of the test until a second or two before the end where it consistently goes down to 860Mbps:

Evidently to improve my results all I had to do was run the test from Chrome instead of Firefox (sigh).

Just had to crop out all the ads relating to improving my credit score...

Actually it was probably one of the very extensions to block those credit score ads that slowed down the speed test a bit. When I run Firefox in safe mode, it performs as well as Chrome:
