If we accept the bait and enter into an argument, either in favor of the premise that their is a rightwing problem at foot, or we try to counter the rightwing angle with leftwing culpability or similarity, then we have swallowed the bait hook, line and sinker and are being reeled in to the same fishing boat regardless of which flavor bait we accepted.

As long as we the consumer are buying the premise the media will be sure to wrap their delivery in one flavor or the other to keep us buying their delivery.

No matter what the product or premise is if it is marketed nationally as an R or a D it is ultimately bad for US.

the call for censorship has already started
Rep. Louise Slaughter, D-N.Y., on Monday referenced a comment by Angle in calling for a change in the nation's political dialogue -- by will or by law.
Rep. Robert Brady, D-Pa., said he has no knowledge about what motivated Loughner to attack Giffords and the others, but he still wants legislation that bans the use of certain imagery when talking about congressional targets
Tuesday, Rep. Kurt Schrader, D-Ore., was quoted in the Oregon Statesman-Journal saying he blamed conservative media personalities like Fox News' Glenn Beck and radio host Rush Limbaugh
Rep. Brad Sherman, D-Calif., told Fox News that Angle \"talked about people rising up and taking over the government by force, using their guns. She was very explicit.\"

Sherman said that even if language used by Angle and her supporters hadn't incited the shootings in Arizona, eventually it will lead to violence

Whether this guy has political motivations or not, all the aforementioned groups or individuals have all been out there advocating using any means possible to bring down our President and his policies. Don't even try to work with him, DESTROY him and all liberals and their ideas, at any cost.

Now today, Sarah Palin has had to gall to claim she's a "victim" in a prepared speech and use an old esoteric, anti-Semetic term I'd never heard of until now to cast blame. Maybe the term "Blood Libel" is being used to refer to herself as a victim, but she could just as easily be called an anti-Semite for using that particular term. So which is it Palin, the Jew's fault, the media's fault or just maybe, your own fault for once. You shall reap what you sow.

She posts a picture on her website of our country with crosshairs speckled all over it (and they're NOT surveyors marks you moron), placed over particular Congress member's districts, calling out to her base to "Don't retreat, reload!" (that's a gun metaphor if I ever heard it) and then comes out swinging when something violent happens. The incident may or may not be connected to her website, but why can't she take some personal responsibility, (a conservative mantra I hear ALL the time), instead of blaming someone else for a change. Her rhetoric stinks and she needs to take some responsibility for it. I'd have a little more respect for her if she had actually apologized. But no, she's an unrepentant boorish clod.

No, they have NOT been advocating using any means possible and have not suggested doing it at any cost.
This is the basis of your rationale and you had to fabricate it to support your bull★■◆●.

Any means possible would include murder and any cost would include getting caught and losing your freedom for ever and possibly your life. You claim those are the methods of your ideological enemy.

if you remember I agreed with you. but if you re-read TB's post. I think the key wording is "SUPPOSED" as in he was reporting what the media had reported not Necessarily his own thoughts on the matter. because in his next post he says

you'll notice in TC first post she makes the statement as fact that this guy was a Tea Part member.

First of all, stop lying. You will easily find where I said I hate Islam, Mohammed, child molesters and the Taliban, but you won't find me putting Sarah Palin anywhere near that category. I stand by the Sheriff's statement, and I stand by my comments of Palin. She's at the absolute top of the list of influential people who spread their toxic rhetoric.

article wrote:For his second book, the 2006 "The Audacity of Hope," Obama got enough of an advance ($1.9 million for a three-book deal) and was certainly busy enough with his work in the Senate - not to mention laying the groundwork for his presidential campaign - that no one would have blamed him for going the ghostwriter route. But, according to Rachel Klayman, the Crown editor who worked with him on "Audacity," he didn't. "I get irritated when people ask, 'Does he have a ghostwriter?' because it's the opposite of that," Klayman told me. "Not only does he not have a ghostwriter, he's on an entirely different plane from most writers editors work with." Klayman said that Obama's writing process was similar to that of many authors: He'd write a draft of a chapter - oftentimes working at his computer late at night - and then send it to her and a group of other people (although in Obama's case these people weren't just friends but mainly political and policy advisors) for suggested edits.
As for Dreams From My Father...

No CUDA, I don't have a twitter account and I've never called for the death of anybody anywhere, even Bush. I also don't even own a cell phone because the telecoms charge WAY too much for their \"service\" and turning on the computer constantly just to rant is too time consuming.

Yeah Bee, I realize that as a liberal leaning person, I'm just bashing my head against the wall here. But when the mood strikes me, it's fun to argue, even though I'm not that good at it. I'm just glad I'm older now. I really don't want to be around this country when the conservatives finally sell off, trash, privatize or evangelize the commons, normally meant to be supported by all, for the benefit of all, not the privileged few who can afford it.

To continue the thread, I found this prime example too. Another conservative hatemonger mouthpiece going at it in full, vivid, living color for anyone driving by to see, until the merde hit the fan that is.

He may have thought this was a funny metaphor at one time to push his hate radio, but it's just a little to close to home because THIS advert happened to be only five miles from the scene of the shooting.

ThunderBunny, you and woodchip are prime examples of right wing fear mongering and uncivil discourse. You both have avatars that are just derogatory altered images of the President, all to elicit some reaction I'm guessing. You practically invite nasty responses to everything you post with those in-your-face insults. Why do you have them? Because you hate Obama? So convenient to advertise your \"hate and evil\" every time you post and then not expect someone else to take exception to it.

My avatar merely reflects what the man believes. Obama was brought up by his mother and his mentors under the socialist/communist philosophy and he's a true believer in those philosophies- what's ironic is that he is now facing down a nation (China) that is using capitalist means to overtake the country Obama is now in charge of. China has always really been communist in name only- it has been a tyranny. They just found capitalism suits their needs, nevermind that it is against all upon which the \"communist\" nation was founded upon.

As to \"hate.\" Why would Obama be offended by being thought of as being \"socialist?\" Don't remember the famous Newsweek magazine cover \"We Are All Socialists Now?\"

Ya... the analogy doesn't work as well due to liberals not having quite as much of an organized media output and that generally isn't a #1 source of news for us. At least for me anyway. Fox News however, a main source of conservative news picks up stories from these blogs run by Murdock and practically cites it's self by using another Murdock publication as a "source". So, your echo chamber is a bit more organized and larger sorry.

Organized media output?

How's this:

MSNBC, NBC, NPR, CBS, AirAmerica(oops, wait- it's dead?), CNN...etc.

From exceedingly biased to way off the left loony edge. Liberals can take their pick.

CNN? Really? Jesus you conservatives really are paranoid and factless, you're naming practically unrelated news organizations instead of calling out an actual infrastructure like I did, let alone a station like CNN who try so hard to stay in the middle they end up not giving proper information, like the equivalence of violent rhetoric of the left and right, where the right is BY FAR more violent in their rhetoric.

Once again you fail to delve into researching a statement before posting. While all you can do is present a generalized statement lets look at actual statements by the left and you tell me where the violence lies:

"A spoiled child (Bush) is telling us our Social Security isn't safe anymore, so he is going to fix it for us. Well, here's your answer, you ungrateful whelp: [audio sound of 4 gunshots being fired.] Just try it, you little b*stard. [audio of gun being cocked]." -- A "humor bit" from the Randi Rhodes Show

"I want to go up to the closest white person and say: 'You can't understand this, it's a black thing' and then slap him, just for my mental health" -- New York city councilman Charles Barron

"..And then there's Rumsfeld who said of Iraq 'We have our good days and our bad days.' We should put this S.O.B. up against a wall and say 'This is one of our bad days' and pull the trigger." -- From a fundraising ad put out by the St. Petersburg Democratic Club"

"F*** God D*mned Joe the God D*mned Motherf*cking plumber! I want Motherf*cking Joe the plumber dead." -- Liberal talk show host Charles Karel Bouley on the air"

"You guys see Live and Let Die, the great Bond film with Yaphet Kotto as the bad guy, Mr. Big? In the end they jam a big CO2 pellet in his face and he blew up. I have to tell you, Rush Limbaugh is looking more and more like Mr. Big, and at some point somebody’s going to jam a CO2 pellet into his head and he’s going to explode like a giant blimp. That day may come. Not yet. But we’ll be there to watch. I think he’s Mr. Big, I think Yaphet Kotto. Are you watching, Rush?" -- Chris Matthews"

"If I got (Condi Rice) a— on camera, I would put my Mars Air Jordans so far up her butt that the Mayo Clinic would have to remove them." -- Spike Lee

"I know how the 'tea party' people feel, the anger, venom and bile that many of them showed during the recent House vote on health-care reform. I know because I want to spit on them, take one of their 'Obama Plan White Slavery' signs and knock every racist and homophobic tooth out of their Cro-Magnon heads." -- The Washington Post's Courtland Milloy

"Charlie - "you know F--- it .... and George Bush wife? I'd F--- that b*tch to death" -- "Shock Jocks" Opie & Anthony talk rape & violence with their guest "Homeless Charlie."

So show me equally depraved comments from the conservative side. The left has always been the more violent side of the political spectrum.

You must be wrong Woody, there are no liberals in the media.

No see, that’s how it works…the people in politics can stay above the fray, because they have all of the other mass media and pop culture to do the dirty work.

No organized media output…ha ha ha. The left runs a well oiled machine…from movies to music, and everything in between.

They just found capitalism suits their needs, nevermind that it is against all upon which the "communist" nation was founded upon.

As to "hate." Why would Obama be offended by being thought of as being "socialist?" Don't remember the famous Newsweek magazine cover "We Are All Socialists Now?"
Socialist you say?

He's sounding more and more like a Republican to me. And that brings up my other question. Tell me why YOU think he's a "socialist" when Obama's managed to piss off all his liberal base? He's done nothing but kiss Republican butt with every policy he's put forth AND gotten slapped for doing so. Frankly, if he even did HALF of what his Democratic base wanted when he got elected, he still wouldn't even be close to being "socialist".

The only thing I CAN call him out on is not showing any backbone or leadership at all. He pontificates well in his speeches, but always regresses into back room, Chicago-style politics to do everything. He's either followed Clinton's failed tactics or continued everything Bush started, with the continued and increased spying on Americans, continuing 2 unjust, unfunded and bankrupting illegal wars, AND not putting a stop to Wall Street control of our country and government (he's actually become part of it). He's done nothing but give big banks the freedom to engage in the same snaky dealing that they did to bring on the economic crisis in the first place. The shenanigans with the financing between Facebook and Goldman Sachs is good example. Bank regulatory oversight is still a joke. These greedy a--holes are even foreclosing on people that have kept up their house payments for crying out loud! Oh, and health care was just boon to the private insurance business. Republicans want to do nothing but get rid of that "job killing health care bill". Well, health care is killing jobs whether or not we have Obamacare. It's too expensive no matter which way you play it. I'm still waiting to see if net neutrality goes the way of the Dodo bird and becomes controlled by the clutches of the telecoms.

The ONLY thing that I see as remotely "socialist" was that stupid mandate to force people to buy PRIVATE health insurance, which isn't even socialist at all. 'Socialist' would have been to force everyone to buy government-based insurance to the exclusion of private industry. Maybe your definition of socialism is different from mine.

Be that as it may, your avatar picture is still just an in-your-face jab to get others riled up over some false equivalency. The right is so far right that center isn't even center anymore. Whether Palin's or Rush's little gun references caused violence or not, they sure didn't help with the discourse in this country. And the fact that they can't even bring themselves to apologize for their lack of tact shows me their true colors.

Spidey, pop culture is used to keep the soiled, poor, itinerant masses drugged, stupefied, in the dark and under control by big business, who happens to control the media.
