Besides those tax deferments, which also drain state coffers, they're paying for expensive road improvements, out of the taxpayer larder. There's nothing wrong with that I suppose, but in times of budget shortfalls and cost cutting, playing
win or lose with scarce taxpayer money on some boondoggle that
may or may not pay off when other more important things need taken care of, like public safety and education, is just stupid. The governor is gambling and his priorities are not in the right place. But I guess if Kentuckians want to spend their money on something that's just plain fantasy, that's OK by me. Beats dealing with the substandard schools, crime and lack of police enforcement I guess.

It's interesting watching your prejudice cause you to make wild assumptions about a well-precedented, calculated economic decision that you know nothing about.
Bad governor, bad! The state doesn't have money to do irresponsible things like encourage tourism through economic incentives for museums [that TC doesn't like]! What the hell was he thinking? And those people going to hotels, restaurants, gas stations, and other businesses while on their trip are damaging Kentucky roads in the process! Quick, shut the borders!

A boondoggle is a boondoggle. Kind of like giving energy tax breaks for offsetting climate change.
It all depends on your perspective and what you think is important. I happen to think giving tax breaks to a religious-based theme park that is making up whole chunks of human history is a total waste of slim tax revenues that could go towards more important things.

But, those tax revenues don’t exist unless the park is built.

Nothing like giving tax breaks for offsetting climate change, TC. Get a grip. Any tourist attraction brings increased revenue to the businesses in the immediate surrounding area.
Increased Revenue -> Increased Businesses -> Increased Business Tax Revenue
and... Increased Businesses -> Increased Employment -> Increased Individual Tax Revenue.
The boondoggle's in your head.

They DO want to spend $11 million for the highway interchange improvements. Maybe people should get to vote on it. If the majority wants to blow their tax dollars on this idiocy, let them.

Well, I won't take the argument further, because I don't have the necessary numbers EITHER, but I will say that I would imagine that $11 million is probably peanuts next to the benefits and revenue gleaned. AIG chose a prime location, from what I've heard. I can't imaging they'll be the only big business/attraction allowed to grow in the area You're just trying to win one for the anti-AIG crowd. You should climb down off of the bandwagon and take the time to know what you're talking about if you want to have an opinion on it.

Cost/benefit analysis aside, I can't help but think that, if Kentucky had devoted more resources to education, they would have rejected that nonsensical museum in the first place.

LOL!
Hey, I thought of something. If dinosaurs farted themselves into extinction, and humans lived with dinosaurs (according to this Ark Museum), wouldn't we be dead now too?
