Yeah, sounds like Canada was just too good for this tournament. Took a while to start seeing it - the game against Latvia was surprisingly close - but from the semifinals onwards, I'm not sure anyone could have beaten them.

Also: security hasn't been an issue in spite of the threats that someone would try to attack during the Olympics. Big win for Russia there considering the trouble with terrorism over the years.

Now I do not want to delve into the topic , which country produces , cover and support terrorist threat to Russia . And not only for Russia . I understand that you are unable to influence your government . Maybe it is not necessary to look for new , unnecessary and dangerous to the peace opportunities angering Russia ? For example , the creation of military bases of unmanned droid in the former Soviet republics. Although ... Actually I should say thank you United States, that they keep us in suspense and do not allow us to relax , to promote scientific progress and create new types of weapons. For the future of Russian military activity such U.S. even useful. But I do not want to discuss it in this thread . I have too good mood when I saw the political and military opponents can go together in the Olympics without worrying about military threats when we are all united by the simple human values .

Sigma, congrats on the 3 medals on the cross country 50k. What a grueling race.

These days, I don't care too much who wins. Sure I'd like to see the US win a lot of medals, but growing up through the 70's watching the US and USSR sweep the games (summer and winter) most of the time. I started feeling bad for the smaller countries that worked hard all that time and never got close to medals.

Now, I just like to see them all come out and give their best performance.

On a side note, this has to be the whiniest (is that a word?) games I've ever seen. Everyone complaining about the other winning teams. (on all sides)

In fact , I , as an former athlete , it was nice to see a real fight the world's leading sport. At this time, our athletes are better prepared . I hope to see at the next Winter Olympics in Korea no less impressive competition . I am also glad that the U.S. and its satellites did not disgrace himself scandals. Although before the Olympics some small Western journalists and athletes trying to draw attention to his worthless person by inflating baseless and deliberate scandals.
In any case , thank you for your congratulations Duper! I wish good luck to all the athletes on the next Olympics!!!
