Анатолий Белощин (Anatoly Beloshchin) - Russian diver and photographer. He recently found in a flooded cave in Mexico unusual natural phenomenon - underwater river. To make these pictures, the diver descends to a depth of about 60 meters. If you look closely, you can see sandy beaches, driftwood and fallen leaves - as in any river.
Sea water is saturated with hydrogen sulfide, much heavier than normal. Due to its gravity, it falls down and forms a stream that is very similar to the river.

Heck, it's not a wave, and a tsunami! These guys definitely adrenaline maniacs... One of the most insane things I've made in my life, that I once swam in the nighttime in the sea in a violent storm on the Black sea. I wanted to prove to myself that I can do it. The actual forms were cast by archaeologists by pouring plaster into the voids left by the Pompeii victims long after they'd been entombed in ash and decomposed. Their bones still remained inside the voids and were then encased in the plaster, hence the need for a CAT scan to see what was inside.

sigma, it's not a mummy. What happened was when Mt. Vesuvius erupted near Pompeii long ago, all those poor victims were trapped and buried in hot volcanic ash. The ash soon cooled and hardened around the bodies and the soft tissue eventually decomposed or burned away. This left a void or empty space shaped like a human mold, that still contained their bones since the bones were all that remained. What archaeologists did was to pour plaster into those voids, which essentially made plaster statues out of all those victims. Then they dug those now hardened plaster casts out of the rock and sent them through a CAT scanner to see what their bones looked like inside the plaster. It is pretty lifelike I'll have to admit.

Of course, this is not a mummy. How else could you be called in one word all those poor victims were trapped and buried in hot volcanic ash?
Nevertheless, it is still amazing.

Not a pleasant way to die for sure. We had a few people die that way when Mt. St. Helens in Washington State blew up in 1980. The bodies have never been found.

This is interesting. Now we know why Mars has almost no atmosphere now. It doesn't have a magnetic field and there's a strong solar wind blowing it into space.

That's probably why those tires won't work in the real world. They are too smooth for adequate traction in the rain or snow. But they sure make parallel parking easier, especially for those who have never taken driver's education, which includes most of the younger drivers in the U.S. now.
