well it had been going on, for like 900 years or more.
So long it became institutionalized.

yes, and similarly, the Church made the abuse of children(sexual and otherwise) pretty common.

It became institutionalized because the church demanded celibacy, which for most human males, is darn near impossible. The only men who could actually look celibate were gay males, because they were in the closet all the time and weren't interested in women, so they appeared celibate. They could hide what they were doing because they had to be hidden from view in the first place, and that enabled the whole opportunistic mess.

Gay men probably found refuge in the church as clergy. A way to hide in plain sight without having to take a wife- and of course, be in the company of many other non-married men (which probably had a much higher percentage of gays than the average population outside of the clergy.)

And how would you know this? By watching Boys Town with Spencer Tracey as a priest?

Yes, I have personal knowledge of every priest that has ever been in the service of Christianity ever.

Probable. But the effort to do this would be quite monumental.

No, what was monumental was hiding pedophile priests by transferring them from parish to parish.

"monumental" doesn't mean what you think it means.

Nor does thinking "monumental" is something one would build a edifice from your posts.

Okay, we've gone from drawings of Muhammed, to gay marriage, to pedophilia, to inane wordplay, and finally, to...
