First things first… I’m sorry about the outage. I hate it when things like that happen.
Well, the logs don't tell me much. It looks like everything was a-ok right up to the point of the down time. I'm going to schedule an outage very soon on this server and have a look at the hardware to see if anything is wrong there. I'll let everyone know when this is going to happen.
Until I am able to determine the problem I'm going to set the system to restart it self twice a day at 3:55am and 3:55pm pacific time. It only takes the system about 2 minutes to restart. If you get caught during this reboot just hang on, it will be back.
I think I’ve said this before… I have the system to notify me via pager in the event a server goes down. I usually know about a system outage with in 5 minutes and begin working the problem as soon as I can. If I’m not available I have a couple other people that help me and know what to do. If possible we will get the system running again with out having to visit the data center because that involves arranging for an escort to the equipment because it’s located in a secure facility under video monitoring and controlled access.
Again, I’m sorry about the outage. I’ll work on it to see what I can find out.
