I just installed a new retail copy of D3. I understand that D3 been patched many times in it's ten years of life.
Which patch should I get and what does it do for me? Or is the patch totally optional?
I don't do network or multi-player. Yet at least. ( Newbie, you know.)
I understand there' a D3 music enhancement patch too. Where do I get that?
TIA

The d3 patches..what do I get when I install?
Unpatched is serviceable for single-player only, although later releases may fix some bugs.
If you're playing online, you will need version 1.4 to keep up to date with everyone else (different versions can't play in the same game).
Regardless, if you're going to patch, the latest version I'd recommend is 1.4. There is a non-final release of 1.5 circulating around, but it doesn't get used as much for compatibility reasons.

Thanks, Sirius
...and the music enhancement pack for D3?
I read somewhere on PlanetDescent.com that players were disappointed in the music for D3 as compared to the music of D1 and D2.
So they came out with a music patch to enhance the D3 background themes.
Is that available somewhere?
TIA

what you say??
There is not a replacement sound track for D3, it is unique for it's type
Maybe what you are thinking is how to play other music than just a descent soundtrack. winamp works

I seem to have a better workout dodging your stupidity than attempting to grasp the weight of your intelligence.

Bubbalou,
Planetdescent.com\\editorials\\game music refers to a D3 \" expansion pack\" that helped the music.
Just wondered what the \"expansion pack\" is the writer meant and where do I get it?
TIA

The Mercenary expansion pack included a brand-new seven-mission SP campaign featuring some massive and brilliantly-designed levels, as well as a brand new soundtrack for those levels; it also introduced the Black Pyro ship and included several new MP levels. It didn't do anything to change the soundtrack from the original Retribution levels.
