Things are about to CHANGE in the multiplayer world.

Yep, I fly under Kilarin. I hit the VV capture the flag game every so often. Just tried a Friendly Fire Halcyon game. Wow, FF is fun! Changes the game quite a bit!

BUT, wherever I play, I STINK. Boy I love this game to still be so bad at it. :)

OK cool! Maybe I'll join that VV game too. I was just in that Friendly fire Halcyon game as well. I like that one quite a bit. :)

Personally I wish Descent 2 had the ability to turn friendly fire off.

Well, yeah, I know XL has it, but so many people don't use it...

I seem to have a better workout dodging your stupidity than attempting to grasp the weight of your intelligence.

If I can find anyone IN them. I'm not very picky about levels. I like CTF and team anarchy a bit more than just plain old anarchy, but I DO like anarchy.
Halcyon is ok for smaller CTF games. Subway Dancer is amusing for a while, but a completely different skill set. Yes, yes, I know many of you hate it, and I understand why, but like I said, it can still be fun for a while. I get to play in waltzn matilda occasionally, once in a great while someone will play canyon siege, thats about my FAVORITE anarchy level. LOVE those big open area dog fights. Stadium can have nice dogfights. Abend is ok. I'll play any level that has people in it.

The nice thing about the VV game is that its big enough to have more people in it, and its frequented by a pretty good bunch of folks. They put up with my incredibly bad playing, and that says a LOT for them.

haha, all I like to do in stadium is horde megas and lob them in the rooms when someone is there. Hehe :P Oh, and I can only play that level upside down, it just feels right that way.

I'm on dialup... but I'm moving to a place where I'll have broad band or DSL...

But I'll still have my OTHER excuse... Motherboard video, 20 FPS!

Ha! perhaps I should try that one. I've never even checked my FPS. it obviously doesn't make a whole lot of difference when you can't hit the broad side of a barn with the MD. :)

Actually, fps (you can check it just by typing [edit]\"frametime\"[/edit] while in game) can make a BIG difference when trying to aim weapons like the MD or Vauss, especially across large levels like VV.

It's worth turning your detail and/or resolution down to make sure you get a good framerate (I usually prefer to try and keep it where I get 70+ fps most of the time).

You might even try a cheap video card (usually, most anything is better than onboard video, and some older ones can be found for US$30 or less).

P.S. The other big tip for landing MD shots is to turn your X & Y sensitivity way down (it depends on the stick somewhat, so experiment with it), and make sure you have the \"deadzone\" as small as possible (\"-deadzone 0.0\" on the D3 command-line).

Turns out its "frametime", but that was pretty close. :)

Looks like I'm getting 27 or 28 at the super high detail level I was running. dropping to medium or low detail gets me bursts of up to 40.

Thanks for the advice on the MD! I'll make certain the deadzone is tiny. (and I'll consider that video card purchase!) I OCCASIONALLY get a MD hit now, so I am improving. But there was so much ROOM for improvement... :)

My fps of 20 is the Min. from running \"secret demo timetest\" (or something like that) offline. Untill recently played with a dual stick gamepad. Two or three weeks ago bought a logitech extreme 3d pro, still playing with settings.

I've though about getting a V card, it would have to be pci, but I am planning to build a whole new computer as this one takes forever to light a mine. It needs every upgrade known. (it was built as an office machine)
