Okay, that was a completely random Rodney Dangerfield cameo. Did not see that one coming. :)

Gotta love the \"shield eyes\" though.

Whoa! How in the world did I miss these?

I hadn't yet tried multiplayer, but I was a HUGE fan of the game back at the time these came out, and I have both PlayStation titles. Were they just on website ads, or were they actually broadcast somewhere?

Yeah, the shield eyes are one cool idea.

Hey, Descent shield contact lenses would be cool!

Or, for those of us who don't wear contacts - sunglass lenses. :)

Looks like this place could do it if you paid them enough.

There are contacts w/o optical effect, just to change the appearance of your eye pupils. ;)

Heck, animated shield contacts would be cool ...

I liked Descent 3's commercial better.

Unbelieveable I know, but I agree with Agressor Prime.

WTF with Jenny McCarthy? That ★■◆● couldn't act her way out of a paper bag. And as for her \"You're going down\"??? OMG - NO ★■◆● - YOU ARE!

It takes a little bit of getting used to, and you have to sacrifice some maneuverability, but I was able to fly at least decently with the PS1 controller.

It actually worked fairly well on the PSX controller.

It's Descent Maximum with the issues (Afterburner, Headlight, Switch Mines, and all of those other Descent 2 features are awkward to map to so few buttons).

Yeah, I never got completely used to it, but you can at least set up a workable setup for just the basic movement/weapons controls. The rest of the specific controls had to be bound to weird things like \"Select+R1\".

i found that game for a dollar at a store and bought it not too long ago. I was disappointed at it's controls and graphics. D2X-XL has done so much for the game i cant stand it any other way now.

All I know about the controls is that the default scheme absolutely reeked. Believe it or not, you couldn't even slide up and down! :P I think I wound up using the four circular buttons for sliding, two of the shoulders for forward/back motion, and the other two for weapons. Unfortunately, banking had to be relegated to holding Select and using one of the shoulders, but all things considered, it ended up working out pretty well.

Controls were easy on PSX if you were not cheap and had one of these
