Socket-AM2 and PC2-8000

Does PC2-8000 (DDR2-1000) work with AM2 right now? Would it be in sync with the HT bus?
if you have a descent board, you can set the mem freq independant of the CPU's FSB, and change the LDT(HyperTransport, just to avoid confusion) multipler.
if you can, reduce the LDT multipler - overclocking it just adds instability.
K8's give a damn about tight timings rather than overall bandwidth(hence the lack-luster improvement over DDR).
