Reflection

Post by Verran »

I wrote this song over four years ago or so, but managed to clean it up and decided to release it, although I'm not very happy with the ending (or the mastering). It's not very complicated or elegant, but it makes me feel good when I'm down. :)

Download Reflection

Having been so busy working on the Core Decision soundtrack, which is a lot more hardcore/electronic/rock, this is a nice reprieve from my day to day tinkering. :)

Hope you like it!

What are you using to do the strings? I have a few songs of mine that I've always invisioned having a string section in them, but didn't know how to go about making that happen.

Are you using some sort of midi controller?

Great song, btw :D

If this is a sample of your work, I'm really looking forward to the sound track for CD. Although I'd probably be happier if the music leaned more THIS direction instead of more towards the "hardcore". :)

Unfortunantly, I'm a small minority in prefering classical over rock.

Ah, now HERE is a good idea, have CD have multiple sound tracks. The user specifies a preference, symphonic, rock, reggie.. :) then they get the entire soundtrack oriented that way!

Somehow I just do NOT think High Octane is interested in paying for that. :)

Thanks!

I use Reason and absolutely love it. :)

This is really old, so it doesn't come close to most of the recent stuff I've done. But here's the RPS if you want to look it over.

IIRC, you record live sessions right? Reason would be awesome to incorporate into your music - strings, drum machines, loops, etc. ;) With ReWire, it's easy to plug into other applications like CuBase and ProTools.

Great idea Kilarin, I like it! Of course that would have to be up to Mr. Briggs. ;) So far the tracks do vary in style, and I'm up to 18 total now, but there's nothing really symphonic/classical. I've been looking for inspiration, though, and I think that is one style that definitely could be tangible!

Here's some of my older stuff, too:
Descent Forever (Unfinished)

Guitar (Test track)

Quill Trip (Unmastered)

Work Edge (Unmastered)

Eligibility (Unmastered)
