MS auto updates

I have Auto updates to notify me but don't download or install them.

I use Custom install because I don't want to install items that I don't need like the \"Outlook Express security update\".

I don't use Outlook so I don't want to download the update but when I uncheck it, the icon (yellow shield) for updates stays in my System tray.

Is there a way to tell MS not to keep requesting I download the Outlook update?

remove outlook express.

its under windows components in the add-remove CP.

but beyond that, it might be easier to hit WU often, and disable Automatic Updates.
