YAY for the sensible laws in USA and enforecement thereof!

Post by Mobius »

The US has gone from \"glad\", passed quickly through \"mad\" and is now moving rapidly directly to \"bad\".

CLICKY

Pretty soon, expect to be \"sad\".

At one stage I was actually thinking about moving to the USA for a while. Now however, I have disabused myself of this notion.

Vote against copyright stupidity. Write your congressman. If you aren't already a criminal according to US law, then I am very surprised indeed. Remember, the DCMA makes circumventing copy protection a criminal act.

Tell me, how's it feel to know you can be arrested at any time, because you copied a DVD?

Welcome to before you were born Mobius.

You try playing music in a restaurant in NZ without a license. You'll wind up in the same predicament.

How typically American. It's already at \"sad\".

arn't public performances forbidden by copyright law prettymuch EVERYWHERE?

i read it at the start of every movie i watch, although it's mostly relevant to american law i just kinda assume it's the same down here in OZ too.

About the only finger i can point at USA in this regard is that they are the most fervant backers and pushers of such laws, but we've ALL got em.

What guy goes into a place and thinks, \"I wanna feel like a big shot and screw some guy over, who works hard for an honest buck, unlike me.\" I mean, can't you just say to the law, \"No. I can't afford to lose my business over a song or two. Here's a free sandwich, but that's it.\"

This reminds me of that radio presenter in the game 'The Movies': \"Remember, it is a crime to sing or hum any of the songs you hear on this radio.\"

In other illegal-copying related news, Google bought YouTube for $1.65bn two days ago. (coincidently, it was on my birthday too)
