This is the mail server. You should contact your ISP and find out what it is or if it's a Hotmail, Yahoo, etc, go to their help pages on email and the server listing should be there.

the next thing it asks you is incoming and outgoing usernames.

does pinging pop.mail.yahoo.com do anything?
are you setting up thunderbird for a yahoo mail account?

You can't pop3 Yahoo mail for free. You have to pay for that \"feature\".

Yes, u right. I put "pop.mail.yahoo.com" on it. I have new ThunderBird.

I do too, thats why I moved to Gmail. They allow pop3 access for free. Its somthing that shouldn't be paid for in the first place anyway, heh!
