Maya 7 crashes on Fedora 6

I just upgraded from Fedora 5 to Fedora 6, and Maya 7 does not work. I removed old XGL packages to get Beryl to work, and then reinstalled Maya. There were no missing dependencies.
\"maya -d gdb\" output:
Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.
[Switching to Thread 46989872 (LWP 23677)]
0x006be3ec in GLFunctionTable::populate () from /usr/aw/maya7.0/lib/libHWGL.so
When just running Maya without the debugger, it crashes (the terminal window and the Maya window both quit with no error messages or anything) immediately after the Maya window is created. It looks like it crashes immediately when the 3D view is created, but it happens so fast that it's hard to be sure.
Thank you.
