iPod, mp3 player, podcasting, readers?????
I want to download sermons and half hour programs that were originally on the radio and are podcasted on the Internet. I want to listen to them on something portable.
What do I need? iPod, mp3 player, podcast reader.......?
And how does that all work?

Pick your poison, Creative, Apple, or Sandisk are my favorites for portable media players. If you pick Apple or Creative you can get full featured players that can even show movies and other videos, or you can get strictly audio players. Sandisk doesn't have any video players (I think) but they have the largest flash based MP3 player in the market right now. Flash based is nice because unlike the Apple iPod or Creative Xen, flash based players have no moving parts so they are less likely to break down if you drop them or run with them a lot. Though it comes at a cost of ultimate storage capacity, the Hard Drive based players can hold 20-60 GB, the flash players top out at 8 GB.

Thanks for the info.
Do I need a \"reader\". And what doed it do? Do I \"podcast\" a file to my computer and then upload it to the player?

Yes. Podcasts are just mp3 files.
I vote for Sandisk too. iPod is blah. It's like owning a Mustang.

I actually have one of the 8 GB sandisk players on the way to my house right now (ordered it on Sunday), we also have a smaller 2 GB model from sandisk and it is very nice. Upgrading from 128 MB and 256 MB creative nomad ultra portable players (nomads are the size of keychains).

Also, what about the accessories? Playing it at home or in the car w/o the earbuds/headphones.
