Motorola-Palm Bluetooth Dialup

I just got a palmOne Tungsten E2.
I've had this Motorola L6 for a few months now.

I've bonded them using Bluetooth and I have been able to transer contacts and images between the two devices. The Palm can tell the Motorola to dial a number and the motorola dials the number and connects.

What I'm trying to do is setup the palm to use the motorola as the phoneline for a dialup internet connection. Purdue gives its students a dialup server and it is active. I have the correct username/password/phonenumber

My problem is this: when the palm tells the motorla to dial, the motorola dials and then hangs up. The palm then tells the moto to dial again, and the same thing happens.

Has anyone any experience with this sort of thing?

depends if your provider will let you use your L6 as a modem via bluetooth.

which it seems like they won't.

does your provider offer Treos?

My provider is Cingular, but I did not get the phone from them. What is Treos?

You can probably mod an old Motorolla cellphone adapter that supplies dialtone, offhook, hangup, and other subaudible tones that your campus network system is looking for. Treo is another form of PDA/Phone and a whole different set of utilities.

The Campus dialup network is not receiving those tones to establish let alone connect to the Network.
