Here we go with another rendering ride. While I modify my beam rifle design, I will also be creating a new rendition of the Fusion Hulk. Woot.
Roughed-in shape of the armaments:

Good work so far, to most of the noobs on this board that version may look alien to them

Lookin' pretty good, though it is a cannon, not a hulk
I thought you were building the Fusion Hulk robot from D1 when I opened the page. The cannon will need a bit more work but it is very nice so far. Would you mind putting together a low-poly version for the D3 facelift mod I'm trying to work on? I could do it, but I figured you could save me a little time and trouble since I'm making all the particles and projectiles for each weapon on top of each weapon model and ship model.

Well, I can't have a badass looking hulk without a badass looking cannon first.
Re: D3 facelift... perhaps, if I can work it in my schedule.

Cool. I wondered if that was what you were up to. Well, I would at least appreciate the fusion cannon since you are working on it anyway.
I just finished two versions of the concussion missiles, which I will post in my topic later.
I'll leave you in charge of the Fusion spawn mesh then.
So, I've got like 20 weapons left, not to mention particles, textures, and explosion effects.
I've got 4 meshes nearly ready for texturing.

You know, that's the thing that sucks about D3. We can't have chrome or real smoke effects.

I need to ask Ferno. This is your own take on a Descent fusion cannon and not an attempt at a replica of what Bubba posted? (D1 power up)?
The reason I ask because the rod runs across the top of the barrel in the original version.
What program are you using btw?

Maya is awsome. If I had the money, I'd be all over it. I'm using the PLE version myself. Really great program.
A couple of the screws are a bit stretched btw. On the section closest to the ends of the gun barrels. That version won't be going in D3 but I hope you can get us a version that can.
I'd love to see the original Barney Blob Gun back
Would be nice to get the original plasma cannon back too.

As long as you have that creepy eye that bounces back and forth......

Awesome, dude. Though I'd def. take the \"Drill Sergeant\" cue from the original a bit further and give him back his chest. That was probably what made him so threatening in the first place. The flat front kind of looks weak.
Still, excellent job, esp. at maintaining the feel.

Exactly what I was going to say, he needs a chest. I would also suggest some more gear mechanisms (especially in the shoulders) in the arms along with possibly some hydrolics. He looks too flat and a little Tron-like. Still cool though. Maybe even some badass engines on the back. Either way, it needs a little more shape to it.

yeah Mess. I was kinda thinkin the same thing. reminds me of a \"Recognizer\" from Tron ^_^

yes.
needs to look scary-like, the original miniboss did that very well (just look at my avatar
). in order to do that, it needs "muscle". other than that, youve been doing some awesome work. what software you use?
and d3jake...
d3jake wrote:As long as you have that creepy eye that bounces back and forth......
