I've been inspired more than usual lately. Here's another one I wrote the other day.

Perfect Drug

Drink me down and boom for hours
Crush all in your way
Burn me up, ignore the cowards
You’ll quit but not today

I am the perfect drug, you see
You drink at any cost
Better than joints or LSD
Without me you’d be lost

You’ll see things when you drink me dry
Unlike any other sort of trip
Like gaping holes in earth and sky
Your world is built on it

And when your stash is dried and gone
Your quota you must meet
You’ll rob the poor with guns and bombs
Leave them dying in the streets

The dealers are in charge of you
They’re your emperors and kings
The time has come to pay your dues
But your blood ain’t worth a thing

I’m the SOMA in this Brave New World
I’ll make you kill across the globe
And now their plans have been unfurled
You’re an addict –

Dunno if anyone even reads these, but let me know whatcha think. Don't be afraid to criticize - my skin is leather.

Not sure about the break in rhyme scheme in the last stanza.

Heh yeah, I know it's a NIN song, but I came up with the title basically off the top of my head. If you have some suggestions for a title let me know.

And yeah, the last stanza still flows awkwardly for me too. The rhyme scheme is the same throughout, but theres too many syllables and it's phrased awkwardly.
