I have a co-worker who is wanting to install an eVga 7600GT card in his rig. He only has a 400 watt supply. The card says it needs 350 to run. Will this work in his Rig? Here is his specs:

AMD Athlon 64 3200+

1 Gig Dual-channel RAM
DVD/CD-RW Combo Drive
CD-RW Drive
USB 2.0 PCI card
1 120mm Case fan
1 Hard Drive

He has an ATi card in there now that has a minimum requirement of 350 and runs stable. Just wanted to double check here.

Thanks. :)

Should work, best way to find out is to plug it in and try it though.

The biggest thing you need to look for is how much current it needs on the +12V rail.

Well I just bought a BFG 7950 GT that requires a 350W and I have a 350 W on my system right now and it works fine, just depends on how power hungery everything else is that you have.

I was running a 430 Watt Antec TP2.0 with dual athlon MP 2800, 6 HDDs, 3 sticks of RAM, tons of PCI cards, and the fastest BFG AGP card a few months ago, no problems.

When I upgraded from the BFG to an ATI x1950, I had to upgrade the PSU, I'm now running an antec NeoHE 550.

heh, i know what BFG Card that is. 7800GSOC

though for some reason my Asus mobo wont run a BFG 7800GS, so im getting a EVGA 7800GS. someone else who has the same board and bought the same card from BFG tried the EVGA Version and its working just fine, where as the BFG Version would only show the POST screen. once it hit the OS Loading screen it would crap out.
