In Descent, I can never dodge homing missiles, they follow me on such a tight curve that I can't dodge them. Is this a bug with D1X Rebirth or is that how it is supposed to be?

Next Version of D1X/D2X-Rebirth has fixed this bug. This behaviour you notice is related to high FPS.The higher the FPS, the better the homers do turn. Next version will have this fixed (optional to turn it off again as well).

D2X-XL has limited homer turn rate and additionally offers options to decrease their turn rate in three steps.

I got a temporary fix.
D1XRebirth: add -maxfps 30 in front of shortcut.
D2XRebirth: add -maxfps 30 in front of shortcut. Really didn't notice homings in it... could of been me.
D2X-XL: As Diedel said, it is already fixed. This is in fact why I thought it was only a bug in D1.
(Yes, I do use both D2X Rebirth and D2X-XL)

under traditional circumstances, 60 fps was still doable as long as the missle wasn't too close. If it was a ship's length or so way, it would follow you like a chuwawa. ^_^
