JUNK!!!
They're really bad for gamin'! My friend friend told me about that, Intel is one number of best CPU. Any AMD CPUs can bother and bit slow while gaming if high recommends like DOOM 3, Call of Duty 2, F.E.A.R., and etc... But I can play them with graphics, textures, and models are recommended at medium for my fu*kin' system to play smooth. I really hate my CPU named Sempron at 1.8ghz with 512mb DDR. I really want ASUS + E6700 Core 2 4mb 1066mhz with 2gb DDR. And I need a 200mb or more than 200mb Hard Drive 'cuz I installed too much FPS games on my current HD! Now my HD free at about 38.8gb, 100gb if all empty.
Are you still stick with AMD CPU?

a year ago, your friend would've said the opposite.
that being said, to get an upgrade now would involve buying a new motherboard, new ram, and a new video card.
you can get an AMD 3800+ X2 for like 80 bux, compare that to the 375 for the E6700 - remember, you need to buy a new video card and motherboard, and new RAM(you can't use your old stuff).
and owning a 3800+, with a 7800GT, it plays FEAR and DOOM 3 at the high settings very well.

I voted no.
AMD CPUs are still good. It's just that the current ones from Intel are better. And that says a lot about a three-year-old micro-architecture.

Up until last year or so when Intel finally released the Core 2 Duo processors, AMD chips were the fastest desktop processors you could buy. The new Intel chips are a completely new microarchitecture replacing the P4 design that has been around for better then 5 years. By comparison the Athlon 64 microarchitecture is also about 5 years old and is a sitting duck to the new Intel designs.
That being said, trying to base AMD gaming performance off a Semperon processor is basically insulting our intelligence. You wouldn't base Intel gaming performance off a Celeron would you? This is the same thing, the Semperon is a low end ultra budget CPU not built for gaming performance, it was built to run windows, internet explorer and word, not quake 4 and fear.

You mean Intel are better than AMD CPUs.

is that an AGP or a PCI-E card?

My card is PCI-E. PCI-E is better than AGP, I think.

Heh, my AMD Opteron 165 works just fine. I can max quake4 out at everything and I don't notice a single performance hit.
I really hate my CPU named Sempron at 1.8ghz with 512mb DDR. I really want ASUS + E6700 Core 2 4mb 1066mhz with 2gb DDR.
And thats your problem right there dude. You're comparing a low-end processor to a high end one. Thats like comparing a old-school pentium1 to an athlon 64.
And I need a 200mb or more than 200mb Hard Drive 'cuz I installed too much FPS games on my current HD! Now my HD free at about 38.8gb, 100gb if all empty.
So quit yer bitchin' and buy a bigger hard drive. 100GB is nothing these days. You can grab a 400GB 7200.10 Seagate off of newegg for like $100.
Are you still stick with AMD CPU?
Are you still stuck with teh ignorance??????

You're not helpful and not interest in play video game. Next time, be nice to other... Or GO AWAY!
Please, do not mess talk in the topic too much or this topic will be locked.

Dude, if you act dumb then expect to be called on it. You made a really STUPID post, one that five years ago would have been torn to shreds so bad you'd leave in tears. You made a sweeping judgment just because you bought a really cheap budget processor, and wonder why you got ripped over it? Next time, do your research.
There is a LARGE difference between the budget processors (which is what your sempron is) and the Athlons, let alone the Opterons. (the latter being a SERVER class processor, which ironically is slightly cheaper than the Athlon X2's and has twice the L2 cache)

Flaming on and on yourself will get you locked, not people helping to point out to you that before C2D came out, AMD was king.
On top of that, you have a Sempron. Athlon > Sempron. So why you are complaining so much, I dont know. You have a budget CPU, expect budget performance.
I would suggest thinking a bit more before posting in ignorance (and you can do without the attitude as well
)

I will be the judge of that.
Honestly I was tempted to lock this topic as soon as you posted it, but I decided to give you a chance. That chance has expired.
