Microsoft could smash Thompson like the pathetic fly he is.

But why waste the effort?

I want to know why the Florida Bar doesn't have the cahones to punish or disbar this idiot. I mean, he had the gall to sue the bar for investigating him! XD

Huh. The last time I heard about him, he was trying to sue Wendys for giving away free stuff as advertising for the Wii.
Apparently, it was because Manhunt2 was coming out on Wii.
Really.

LOL

NO sense at all of priorities. Before condemning a largely family-friendly console because of ONE game, why not consider the other two, the bulk of whose libraries might consist of \"violent\" video games? (Well, don't know about bulk, but still, \"violent\" games usually care more about graphics, so I reason they're more likely to appear on 360 or PS3.)

And Halo 3. Well. That stuff is not inside Microsoft's control and suing them is very, very expensive. One would think he could at least read up on their court history before getting out of his depth...

Wouldn't it be easier if he just skipped to the next part and just shot himself? Or does JT really want to watch himself fail at everything in life and make himself and go through the pain and misery first?

Going after Halo 3? He has to select probably one of the most kid-safe non-gory FPS games I've ever played. Why not Doom, Quake, Unreal Tournament, Dark Messiah, Hitman, you know games where people actually get dismembered.

I'd love to see how fast this gets tossed out of court.

On what basis would he actually sue?

Instead of trolling the internet.
He's trolling the courts!

Heck, maybe he's doing both? :P

Has anyone else got the feeling that he's secretly being payed for doing all this?

His wife is apparently a prominent Florida lawyer. She is said to be far more successful than he is. His lawsuits are a petulant way of making up for his personal inadequacies.

Also, video games apparently peed in his cereal when he was a toddler.

I can see the headlines now, "M$ crushes Jack Thomson in court, Is seen later that night having to set up camp in the in the backyard, wife is heard quoting, "He will never learn." Uncomfermed sources state that Mrs. Thompson was seen getting devoice paper at the local courthouse, video gamer though are rejoicing at the outcome of the court ruling."

Turns out that Hillary Clinton was way more successful as a Lawyer than her husband as well.... (I still won't vote for her).

Uh, yes they do, but I'm referring to the retailers. They are the ones that decide who they're going to sell to, and MS has no direct control over them.

A publisher has full control over whether a retailer is allowed to sell their product or not.

\"direct\"

In other words it can be done as you say, but it's not a particularly good method...

I'm amazed that he hasn't tried to sue Nintendo over the name of the console.

Nah, he'd much more likely to try and sue Microsoft... again... for the name of the Xbox. Probably something to do with it being so like the Japanese symbol for evil.

...which I only realised just now! The japanese symbol for evil is, quite literally, an X in a box.
