USA The most hated country on earth?

Post by Ford Prefect »

Fred Reed loves to be a s***disturber. Being politically incorrect is what he does for a living. At any rate in his latest column he makes the claim that the US and Israel are the two most hated countries on earth.
http://fredoneverything.net/FOE_Frame_Column.htm
Now the U.S. has made some serious enemies for sure and as I said in another thread it seems in the last 50-60 years the U.S. keeps finding a \"threat that must be defeated\" and then goes about and does so at the expense of the lives and infrastructure of some other country. But the old USSR,Imperial Britain, Cuba and others are no better, if less well successful. It really doesn't make that much sense that the U.S. is such a target and yet as Fred points out U.S. embassies everywhere are \"part prison and part fortress\". U.S. citizens that travel the less tourist areas tend to hide their identities, either blend in or pretend to be Canadians.
At one time the U.S. was admired throughout the world and now it is reviled by much of it. Strange days don't you think?

Honestly, I'm not suprised. There may be a lot of countries that are much worse than the USA, but the USA are the ones actually trying to publicise all their actions, trying to get other countries to join in, but that only aggrivates the people more.

That and every person I've talked to that lived in another country all said the same things: Americans are the rudest, most inconsiderate and clueless of all the tourists.

Apparently, Americans act over there the same way they act here. Rude, inconsiderate, and clueless.

Well I don't know about rudest. I think the Germans have a lock on that. Certainly clueless is common place. The U.S. is huge and so many of it's citizens have no idea of what happens in the rest of the world outside of what they see on FOX News and read in USA Today. North Americans (I include much of Canada in this) is one of the only areas where almost no one speaks a second language.

Well! You're wrong guys. Israelis are thEE worst tourists, they blow the Americans away that's for sure.

I used to think Yanks were terrible abroad, but i was mistaken. They don't need to speak a second language, they don't need passports--they've got everything they need right at home. Americans are like big wide-eyed kids abroad. Naive, excitable and a little mannerless--but they have a good heart. Germans wouldn't know a joke if it slapped them in the face. French are ignorant elitist twats and like i said Israelis are wankers.

The Brits are gods. They just get drunk and fall asleep!!!!

Nah, I found Germans to be alright. And the French just don't like America.
Actually, I had an Israeli friend when I was young. Didn't really find him any different than normal people, except that he knew a lot of different languages.

But drunk Russians are the worst! Dear lord, you do not want to have to come across a drunk Russian!

If 'certain govt. bodies' is a codeword for 'people of the world', then that's the one!

I've dealt with american tourists once. bar none, that they were the worst I've had to dealt with. demanding, self-absorbed, arrogant and just downright clueless.

I came off thinking 'wtf is wrong with those people?'

Perversely, I hear people around here that don't think American people are that bad at all. Hm.

I dislike Iran (the government at least) MUCH more than America, by the way. At least the latter is more trustworthy and doesn't think too much of itself.

LOL every time I see stuff like that it cracks me up. The U.S. is less free than many \"socialist Hells\" around the world. You guys just have more money and worship the stuff.
The thought of various government committees in souless oppressed countries sweating and gnashing their teeth at the thought that American freedoms might infiltrate their country. So very cold war. :D

Try pulling aside an Iranian where he can speak freely (if in Iran, lots of luck) and see what he says about the matter.

Those are Eskimo's. Canadians don't hunt seals. It's against the law here.

lol... i don't really care, i just joked at your lack of understanding Dakatsu's sarcasm (second person this week! Hmm! is there an anal holiday over there or something?)

After a google though, i couldn't find any mention of it being illegal, or that it's Eskimo's with baseball bats.

Canada is not the USA. The USA is freedom incarnate. Therefore, Canada hates freedon.
Well, that's the lesson some people are are trying to teach.

Not surprisingly, the most active country in the world is also the most hated. It's probably the most loved, too. Not a lot of people out there who fall in the \"no opinion\" category.

You obviously haven't been outside of America for a loooong time. We outside of the USA don't just wage war on a country for such feeble reasons as you do.

You obviously haven't been outside of America for a loooong time.
Whether or not they actually leave America it seems many of the people of the richest and best educated country in the world can't imagine what happens in the rest of the world except for the usual propaganda they get from their moronic press.
The term \"Socialist Hell\" has actually been used on this board to describe such nightmare places as Australia, and Germany and Belgium you know the places where the population all dresses in grey and brown and lives in cold water flats.
This isn't going to get any better as the U.S. population becomes more afraid of travel in other countries due to the fear of targeted attack. This plus the need for their braindead media to cram sensationalistic pap into the few non-commercial moments available to them.
Then to make things seem better they push that \"We are the most Free nation in the world. The hatred is just Envy and fear of Freedom\" propaganda line. Since no one travels out of the U.S. any more they believe what they are told.
I have an American wife. Born in upstate New York, raised in South Dakota, educated in Sacramento and Los Angeles and stolen from her native land while in Seattle.
We live in Richmond B.C. only 30 miles from the U.S. border and she will tell you what a difference those few miles make. After a couple of years here (now 22 years) she commented that those family members she left behind just don't get the real story of what is happening in the world.
She remains a U.S. citizen by the way partly from inertia and partly because she is afraid of being blocked from returning if circumstances force her back with her family for some unforeseen reason. (My untimely death, sick parent, economic collapse.. you know unforeseen crap like that) If you take out citizenship in another country your U.S. citizenship can be revoked without explanation by an unknown bureaucrat at any time. There are no guidelines it can just be revoked.
