I was down at Union Square this afternoon (on my way to the new Guitar Center that recently opened up), when I passed by a Bush-bashing festival. It took a mighty lot of reserve to not grab a lighter and ignite their banners...

...I just wish I had known about this (requires QuickTime). I wonder where this took place; I sure would have loved to have been a witness.

So sad to actually see them for the lemmings they are because you could tell from their reactions that inspite of finding out they were being led off a cliff they seemed resolved to go ahead and follow each other off the edge.

that was actually very informative in the sense that it demonstrates there is little or no difference between the republican and democrat politicians.

I agree with Top Gun, it doesn't show they are the same, it shows the Dems are doing their damndest to try to coop conservative values and Republican positions, at least on the campaign trail. They've become the *me too* party in an effort to bamboozle American voters into giving them another shot at power. Once in, however, I would predict they'd go back to their old selves pandering to special interests, raising taxes and worshipping to the god of political correctness.

I simply think it's a case of people believing that the Democratic party doesn't play politics. Just like there are some who swear by the Republican party, believing it can do no wrong. I, and many other Americans, just happen to believe that going into Iraq was the right thing to do, regardless of whatever politics are/were involved. The party that voted for that, and shares many other similar ideas, happens to be the Republican party.

Whenever I see something like the movie I linked to, I try to distinguish between party-linesmen and people with actual ideas, whether I agree with those ideas or not. The difference is profound.

And Zuruck, the Democratic party makes it a point to target minorities, young people, old people, and unions. Much of middle-class, lower-management America doesn't have the benefits of being in the organization of these people or possessing their ability/desire to vocally demonstrate their position with rallies and the like. Remember the "silent majority"? They like to voice their opinion in the polls.
