Transfer a huge file, like 40 megs, with USB 1.1 it will take forever, USB 2 it will take seconds.

Either that or look up the specs online for your MB.

Plug a high speed USB2.0 device into your USB port, if it is USB1.x windows XP will throw a warning \"High speed device in low speed port\" or something to that effect.
