Hm, now I'll have to decide betw. that and the G9.. LCD vs. 3200dpi & the flywheel type scroll wheel.. Probably the latter :)

Would of been nice if Microsoft supported their fsking Sidewinder joysticks longer instead of leaving their customers in the dust so shortly after releasing a product...

[/disgruntled Sidewinder FF2 Joystick owner who bought his months before M$ cut support. It was the last time I EVER buy M$ hardware.]

Laser is bad for gaming, I've found. Can't pick up the mouse a hair and recenter it without it moving my aim. The optical mice were much better in that regard, but the ones I was using were too low resolution. I use a ballmouse now for gaming.

Funny, I haven't had any trouble with my mx1000. You just have to adjust the sensitivity to suit you. In 1942, I can pan 180 by moving an inch in either direction. That doesn't impeed my accuracy either. Ask Trampler on kali sometime. ;)

I have a problem gaming with my MX1000, it weighs a ton and is sluggish. My G7 on the other hand works very well, and is generally more accurate than the MX1000.

I have no problem with picking up my laser mouse and moving it.

that being said, MS is better off pairing this mouse with a keyboard and selling both for the 360 as well.

Thought that the Microsoft Sidewinder Product was ONLY joysticks.

I'll stick with my joystick for flight sims and descent - thank you very much!

Huh, I'd say the only Razer mouse comparable to the G9 is the Lachesis.. I'm done w/ Razer, their hardware is mid-range at best and I really hate their marketing burps -- it's like tech-speak in the Voyager series: \"Nine independently programmable Hyperesponse™ buttons\", \"Zero-acoustic Ultraslick™ Teflon feet\", \"32KB Razer Synapse™ onboard memory\", \"1000Hz Ultrapolling™\". Any top end mouse has these features, they just don't use (tm)ed pseudo-science terms to describe them.

Their marketing is ridiculous, but the mice they produce are still pretty good. Im still using the original Boomslang I bought way back in early 2000.

There was a Sidewinder gamepad at one point, from memory.

By the way, try repeatedly opening and closing those expanders in the feature list in Firefox. You'll notice an amusing bug.

I still prefer my Mx 518

The button placement won me over. I use the 2 thumb buttons quite a bit now.

Beware of the SideWinder mouse if you have regular to small hands -- that puppy is pretty bulky. I can't reach the fwd/rev buttons comfortably eg. No tiltwheel either, even tho the metal wheel is nice. $58 @ amazon ATM. Will play around a bit more w/ it but I'm sold on the G9 -- MUCH better handling.
