Final Fantasy Anthology

I think I heard (once upon a time) that either one or the other (or both) of the games of FF Anthology (Final Fantasy 5 and 6) DO NOT work on the PS2. Can anyone verify this for me (particularly JMEaT?) I am highly interested in playing a fully-English version of FF5, as the one I've played was almost completely translated, but the entire ending (the biggest reason I play RPGs) wasn't translated yet at the time.
Off-Topicish: /begin rant/ Am I the only person here that thinks the majority of FFX-2 blew BFDD's pierced ****? The only kickass parts (IMO) the "1000 Words" video/song, and the "good" ending. Perfect ending wasn't even worth the extra thirty hours I played in order to get it, as it didn't really explain what happened, and why certain people know so much (Shinra, whom I would have wagered is the "little boy" Bahamut Fayth seen in the game and in FFX, wasn't said to be him, but rather "just a (kid) genius" that came out of nowhere.) Also, there was no explanation (to my knowledge) as to why the fayth/aeons were around to begin with (to my knowledge). I dunno, maybe I just expected too much out of the sequel to the greatest (IMO) FF game of all time. I greatly fear that if they *do* make more than FFVII: Advent Children (as in a playable sequel), that they will completely ruin the aspects of the original. /end rant/
