it actually is 6dof..but it's not what you think. Think freespace without as much control of your ship..but the game itself is a blast to play..and absolutely beautiful
Since Von Halcyon posted about Eve a couple of years ago, I picked up on it and have enjoyed it immensely.
Trinity is now being patched and I look forward to it...even more so once I upgrade the computor.
Of course he wasnt bothered by the loss, it was built from ill-gotten parts.
and no, he wasnt camping that gate racking up kills. He was in mid transit and apparently waiting for his next cyno when our scouts happened upon him and took the initiative of killing the cyno badger he was using and dropping the first of many dictor bubbles.
The biggest problem about Eve is the cost. Like WoW, you have to pay for each month. Of course I can understand why, being the servers cost a lot to run, but games like Tibia can afford to be free and feature premium accounts. Another problem is the graphics. Eve just got SM 3.0 with Trinity and won't have SM 4.0 (DX10) until mid next year while FPS's like Crysis have SM 4.0 (DX10) now.
While you do have a monthly cost, it is only around 11+ dollars a month if you buy in 6 month block. The nice thing about Eve is added content and expansions are at no charge.
Getting back into exploration and just finished a radar site with loads of parts, datacores and tuner BPO's. This one site would generate enough isk to buy 2-3 months of gameplay.
For about a year my alt was running a mineral based business. I made about 37 billion isk and was making up to 2 billion a week when I stopped. I might start again here in a few weeks, but im not exactly broke yet. So yeah, if you know how to make money in the game and get good at it, you can get rich with relative ease.
