/me puts hands together offering a small prayer so yet another bubble CRT will rest in peace.

LCDs are getting pretty cheap online, and Christmas is coming up, see if you can con...er get someone to buy you a 19\" LCD for Christmas.

If you're comfortable around high voltage, you could probably adjust the tube so that it aims the guns properly. Its a simple adjustment of a couple pots, usually on the back of the tube itself. Just don't do this alone, just incase you get zapped by mistake. :) Flyback transformers are fun, and for some reason spark an AceCombat story involving a screwdriver, and ends up with a one legged mexican midget flying an F-14 variant that doesn't actually exist. ;)

Two things are likely ...

#1 - Capacitor involved in controlling the voltage for the width is dying. How good are you at finding stuff like that?

#2 - failing solder joint. (add the same question)

Either way ... you ain't gonna fix it without doing some soldering (if you're up to it) or fix it by replacing it.
