Possible MultiPlayer solution.
For anyone that would like to play D1 or D2 without going through Kali (no that Khan is gone)
I think I found a fix for our IPx dilema!
CLICK!
DosBox has a IPX/modem emulator/converter!!!!
get DOSBOX .....HERE
I haven't had a chance to try this out yet, but hope so as soon as things settle down here at the house and I get my head back on straight.

Hamachi would be an easier solution for those not technically inclined.
Just form a channel, and launch the game. Thats it.
I do recommend that you setup IPX as follows:
Also, disable IPX on your main NIC, leaving it only enabled on the hamachi virtual nic.
NOTE: Hamachi works with ANY game that has network support, not just Descent. I've played Red Alert 2 as well as Command and Conquer 3 over it just fine.

I remember doing at least half a dozen UDP games with Hamachi with d1\\2x-r, so I knwo that works, but if I recall correctly, it only suported a UDP game... I can't remember for sure. I'm just curious if maybe DOS BOX has more stable networking. THere are times with Hamachi where guys skip across my screen, and then appear next to me.
