A convo I had with corporate member in a MMORPH I play. Gives a perspective on how life was like before the wall came down. Mac is a head chef now in a fancy west German restaurant:

About half-way through, I gave up completely because it was just too hard to read.

I work with a naturalized Polish immigrant. He has told me a near identical account of what you posted Woodchip. If there is anything we (USA) as a society can glean from the net, it's experiences like this. Too much of what we have is very rapidly slipping away in the face of ideas that are being labeled \"Progressive\" which my co-worker sees very blatantly as the beginnings of communism. That might sound extreme or like fearmongering, but he has some very good proofs to backup his ideas.

Tiger, Mac is teaching himself how to speak and write english so you sometimes have to work at what he is saying.

Duper, it is interesting what you said about \"Progessives\". Noted writer David Horowitz's parents were american communists and he said once that the party decide years ago to drop the word \"communist\" and exchange it with \"progressive\". Ever since I've looked at people calling themselves \"progressives\" with a jaundiced eye.

He is one brave person for sure and I would like to see more if you have it. That was very heartfelt.

My mom's from Poland and my dad from Russia, they both say the same thing.

Its hard to read, but I think I figured out that this is about being on the Soviet side of the Berlin Wall was not a very fun thing to be.
