Ok this is really being to bug the hell out of me. My 1.5 and desert combat patch is coming up with this message. I download these a month ago and they worked just fine then. Now I'm getting this message after using them the 2nd time around. Windows 98 I get the (not a valid Win32 application) and Windows XP I get not enough memory or some crap like that. I haven't download or instilled any thing since then. These files are on my 2nd HD in their own folder. I don't understand how this happened. Is there a way to fix this or even force open the exe files? Some one please help me out ASAP.

Hard drive corruption, perhaps? You can't force open the EXE file in either situation, because Win98 can't execute it at all (doesn't understand it) and XP doesn't think it has enough memory. Allowing either situation to be bypassed could easily crash your system.

Little tip, you're going ot need BF V1.6 and DC .7 to play on public servers. Download those and see if it happens with them too.

I turn my back and boom thereâ??s a new patch. I don't have problem downloading 1.6. But my DC patch is still up to date. The only problem I have is that DC patch. I'm still on 56k and that file is quite large. Before I download it again I'm going to try finding a program that can fix it or force it open. Call me stubborn if you want.

Well for one I hate posting on gamespy boards. Too many steps just to post a simple question. On top I've gotten more good advice here than actual tect boards.

Look at the date on the file. Has it changed?

Download the file again and compare the byte sizes.

Try moving the file to another hard drive and run it from there.

Trust me MOB I tried every trick in the book. I'm going to ask one my friends to download it for me. At least sheâ??s on cable so that won't take long to download.
