Q6600

Post by woodchip »

Thanks to Grendel I have narrowed my CPU search to the Intel Q6600. Further investigation shows a \"GO\" stepping version is more desirable. So far I have found Tiger Direct to actually advertise the Q6600 they sell is a \"Go\" stepping version:

So does anyone have a better source for this CPU or is Tiger Direct a satisfactory supplier?

It's my understanding that with Newegg you may or may not get a GO stepping and with Clubit it is guaranteed.

Heres the link:

I take it only difference between OEM and boxed version is OEM has no heat sink fan? (which is no problem as I will be buying a different fan/cooling system anyway)
