Car Stereo Question.....

I have an older Alpine head unit lying around from before I had sattelite installed that I would like to install into my son's truck, but I don't have any of the mounting hardware necessary. It is a CDA 7838. I have the old harness from my Honda Prelude, but he has a Chevy S-10 and I'm sure it will have a different harness. I also do not have the actual mounting kit for the dash.

Does anyone know where I might find this stuff other than eBay? I have looked around a little, but haven't found much of anything. I would prefer to have something new, but something that works would do fine as well..... Thanks.

What, no wiring diagram? Mounting kits are for lazy people ;)

I hard-wired my system in without any mounting kit.

http://www.scosche.com/

This place will sell you a plug in adapter that brings out the factory wiring to pigtails so you can splice it there. Labeled and easy as pie. They will also have a mounting kit for the S-10 that will make it look factory. Call around your local installer shops and ask if the sell the Scosche connectors and mounting kits. Makes installs a breeze.

Look at the gash in the dash when you remove the behemoth factory radio of an S-10 and then get back to us about mounting kits.

You can also purchase these harnesses @ Circuit City (If yours has a road shop).

CC is probably expensive. Find a smaller stereo place, any one of them can order exactly what you need from places you'll never find by yourself unless you are in the industry.

Open Google Maps in your town, and search for \"Car Audio\" or \"Mobile Audio\" you should get enough hits.
