Moble Core 2 Duo upgrade question

I have an HP dv9000 CTO (EZ379AV) model laptop. I have the service manual for it and it says the CPU is upgradeable (removeable). I know laptops aren't as cut and dry as desktop parts, but was curious if anyone was knowledgeable in this area.
I believe this laptop can support a 2.0GHz C2D. It currently has a 1.6GHz, the extra 400MHz is worth my interests, as I use this laptop heavily and do not want to fork out another 1500 bucks for a newer model. Below is the CPUID with mainboard/BUS info.
Thanks for any help.

Moble = Mobile ... (sorry, couldn't resist)
How old is your unit?
Getting in far enough to change the processor is
NOT a picnic ... many things can easily go wrong. Also, the processor in that model has a \"thermal pad\" stuck to the processor, damage to the thermal pad or absence of that will kill it in short order.
PM message awaits you.

This one should work, $318 (OOS tho). If the CPU socket is accessible w/o taking the laptop completely apart, swapping
should be pretty easy.
Edit: The
T7400 is only +$12, may still work (same TDP & FSB, OOS too tho).

Curse my typos!!!
I've actually taken my HP apart before. When I get bored I take things apart...
It's not too bad, just 34966309 screws.
I have been digging around all day and also found the T7400 to be the best choice. The 7600 is freakin' 600+ bux on newegg.
My only question is, the cache on the 7400 is 4MB and my 5500 is 2MB, will this cause any problems?
