I knew it, Canadian World Domination; first they put four-five embassies, next tanks are rolling through North Dakota!CDN_Merlin wrote:Duper, no idea what metal it is.
Testi, yes you do have one. In case Americans come to visit and they need help.
We have about 4-5 Embassies in the US ourselves.

Tanks? What tanks? You mean our army mounted on horses? Or the RCMP with thier canoes? Or our paper airplanes?

You should be able to deal with them in any good graphical editing application, Testi (I use Paint Shot Pro). Generally you have to know the resolution (and the palette/color scheme?) I think. Could you send that hack my way? I've got a Canon and I'd love to try some uncompressed shooting.
Neat pic, Merlin. Thanks!

I changed the extension to .raw, Photoshop 7 asks for the width (3264) the height (1832) the channels (?) Depth (?) and Header (? bytes). Leaving the Channels at 1, Depth at 8 bits, and 0 header, it says it's too small, and the image is garbage. Changing depth to 16 says the image is to large for the file.
Here's the article with all the relevant links.
What's nice is that it is not destructive. You don't modify your camera in any way, you just drop some files on it and access a new menu with the settings.

Re:
You should be able to use the software that came w/ the camera (EOS DIGITAL Solution Disk Vers. 1-15.x or DIGITAL CAMERA Solution Disk Vers. 2.) Check the Canon website for software updates. I use DPP for my raw images, works fine.Testiculese wrote:Hey Merl, how do I process RAW files? I found a hacked firmware for my Canon, and now I can take RAW pics (extension is CRW?). They're 10mb!
Edit: slick hack!
Edit2: Here's the answer to your question

There'sn't software for my camera. I saw DPP for some of the SLR's, but mine's an A630.
