Program to replace Readplease

I was using Readplease on my other XP computer, but my new XP computer one will run it.

Are there other Free programs out there that do the same thing?

I use ReadPlease ... and I have it on several WinXP systems.

I suspect you typo'd your post? Did you mean to say it won't work on one of them?

If that's the case ... does it give you an error? What is the error?

I don't know of a free alternative to ReadPlease that does as good as Readplease.

ReadPlease 2003.exe
error signature
appname: ReadPlease 2003.exe appver: 0.0.0.0
modname ihcom02w.dll
modver: 2.13.0.1 offset 00018818

That's without viewing technical information.

Did some google'ing on it and found that it is related to Dragon Naturally. From what I saw Dragon Naturally and SAPI 4 don't play nice and peeps where disabling SAPI 4 in Dragon as a poor work around.

I was running 6 on my old computer, because it wouldn't take 9. I guess that's the answer. I used dragon a lot more than I use ReadPlease. So... I guess that takes care of that.

Thanks for the help.

1.Click Start
2. Go to Run
3. Type on the Run window: regedit
4. Click Ok (system registry should come up)
5. On the System Registry: Click File > Export.
6. On the Export range click All.
7. Put a filename and save the file. This is to back up your system registry.
8. On the System registry there are folders with plus signs.
9. Navigate the subfolders of these folders by clicking the plus signs of the folder, which are going to be mentioned below
10. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
11. SOFTWARE
12. Voice
13. TextToSpeech
14. Highlight on Engine folder
15. Then, look at the contents at the right side for ScanSoft RealSpeak v2 Standard16. Delete Scansoft RealSpeak v2 Standard.17. Then trying using both programs.
