I hate Carl Pohlad

Carl Pohlad is the billionaire, cheap-skate owner of the Minnesota Twins who got his start during the great depression delivering foreclosure notices to farmers. In the past several years he has, among other things, refused to do anything to keep his above average players from leaving, whined that he should be entitled public funds with which to build a privately owned stadium for the Twins, and has tried to get the Twins contracted so he could collect the funds he would recieve from such an event.
Now hes basically taken them off the collevtive televisions of the entire state of Minnesota and the surrounding states.

The twins last year launched "Victory". A sports channel somewhat like the Yankee's YES network. However, the network is asking cable operators for $2.50 per month per subscriber in order to carry Victory. Consider the alternative network here: Fox Sports Net North, a network that last year carried, in addition to the Twins, The Minnesota Timberwolves, the Minnesota Wild, and the Minnesota Golden Gophers Hockey team. The Twins apparently thought they werent getting a good enough deal from FSN to carry their games, so they have resorted to this tactic of attempting highway robbery. Aside from the Twins, the only thing that Victory Sports would carry would be the Minnesota Golden Gophers Men's Basketball team, and they want $2.50 a subscriber.
If ever there was a supporting argument to the cable industries claim that sports channels are rasing cable rates, this is it.
What the hell drives these rich bastards who already have bllions to try to get even richer by ripping off the fans even more? One of the few things that makes life in this dorm liveable was that I could almost always find a Twins game on FSN to watch at some time during the day. Here it is on opening day and the Twins are in a nail-biting Extra-innings battle with Cleveland, and the only updates I have are the scores scrolling on the bottom of ESPN2.
I hate you, Carl Pohlad. I hope you one day, either by sale or your own death, give control of the Minnesota Twins so someone whose less of a tightwad and will actually let them become something that Minnesota can embrace again.
