Sidewinder Precision Pro USB WinXP Driver
Got my used stick in the mail today, no CD. Can't find the drivers online. Any help?
Also, the stick is a bit loose. I've got maybe a millimeter wiggle on each axis. Is that bad?

Re:
Odd. It should show up under "Human Interface Devices". XP's HID driver should take care of it. If that one is broken something serious is wrong. Maybe the converter is bad, post what usbview dumps for the stick. I have one at home, will post what it should look like in the evening. (make sure "Config Descriptors" is checked under "Options". F5 to refresh.)Private_Joker wrote:Doesn't appear to be..XP asks me if I'd like to install the new-found hardware, and when it looks for the drivers it finds nothing. The Device manager reports the stick under "other devices".
Won't work in D3 if it's not registered as a HID device. The stick auto-calibrates, no need for manual calibration.Private_Joker wrote:Will it just work in D3 anyway? How do I calibrate it, even?
Edit: here's an example output for usbview using the 3DP-Vert:

I plugged the stick into my other PC (running WinXP) and it found the stick and installed it just fine. This machine, though, continues to fail. Now, even, the computer will completely freeze when I plug the stick in, right after it announces \"Found Sidewinder Precision Pro\".
Because my other comp finds it with no problem, it's gotta be my configuration. Suggestions?
Here's a screenshot of usbview. The other HID device is my Logitech mouse:

The USB enumeration failed (no open pipe, yellow exclamation icon). Could be a hardware issue w/ that specific port or a problem w/ the USB drivers.
That screenshot, is that w/ the \"Config Descriptors\" option checked (and refreshed) ?
Did you try different ports on that comp ?
Looks like your setup uses the standard drivers for the USB hosts. Try to find the right drivers for the hosts. Usually they are included in the chipset drivers.
