Nothing as seemingly ominous as was warned two weeks ago, but the movement of the Ronald Reagan toward the middle east is interesting.

May ominous ... could be just as easily fully normal activity.

/me points out that paranoia will always see trouble when there really isn't any.

Either way...
Move it near = good choice for safety (and support to others)
move it along it's present course = good choice considering the nations it's already near.

Therefore ... probably a good choice regardless what may or may not happen in Georgia.

if they were going to do something. they'd send the carrier groups in the atlantic into the Mediterranean and then into the Black Sea.

going from the Indian ocean would mean violating Iranian air space.

You do know that Georgia and Turkey share a border right?

I'm actually surprised to see so many of our carriers here at home.

Oh well. nothing to see here. :)

(perdy chart though)

carriers are very high maintenance.

Doesn't help that one of them is in dry dock due to incompetence.

The Reagan may be on a WestPac. If that is the case, her position is totally normal.

yup, I know. But with all the conflicts and potential conflicts its a kind of fore gone conclusion that they would be in areas of interest. At Least I would HOPE they were to support the troops we have located there.
